Senior Network Engineer Operational Lead



Patient First is accepting applications for Senior Network Engineer Operational Lead in the Richmond, VA area. Patient First provides a friendly work environment that promotes a team oriented philosophy.

The responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

IManaging projects related to the testing, installation, and maintenance of all network hardware, software, and systems;

Managing network hardware, systems configuration, and backup processes;

Identifying network availability and performance concerns, informing the Network Architect of concerns, and assisting in resolving and preventing such concerns;

Proposing and testing network design changes;

Assisting the Network Administrators and engineers with call resolution;

Handling all calls escalated from the Network Administrators and engineers;

Mentoring the Network Administrators and engineers to ensure his or her technical and career growth;

Creating and managing tickets with vendors;

Assisting the Network Architect with the management of the group, network, and associated responsibilities;

Serving as operational lead for the group under the supervision of the Network Architect;

Attending meetings as directed by the Network Architect.

Job Requirements

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

Cisco CCNP or equivalent knowledge and experience;

Extensive knowledge of routers, switches, and hubs;

Extensive knowledge of routing protocols including, but not limited to, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and RIP;

Extensive knowledge of layer two protocols including, but not limited to, VTP, PPP, HDLC, ARP, CDP, and MPLS, and all versions and variations of spanning tree;

Extensive knowledge of layer one protocols including, but not limited to, Ethernet, serial, and 802.11 a, b, g, and n;

Extensive knowledge of other networking protocols including, but not limited to, TCP, UDP, VRRP, HSRP, SNMP, ICMP, IP, IPV6, NTP, syslog, DHCP, and DNS;

Extensive knowledge of security hardware and protocols including, but not limited to, Checkpoint, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, and Palo Alto firewalls; Cisco and Pulse VPN hardware; IPS; Cisco ISE, ACS and Aruba Clearpass; GRE; IPSEC; AH; MD5; and 3DES;

Extensive experience with managing WAN carriers and trouble tickets;

Superb customer service abilities;

Supervisory experience.
